  • What is LiteStock?
  • LiteStock is a desktop stock price monitoring application. It provides the traditional 'scrolling ticker', as well as a new 'Portfolio View' window which lets you see the performance of all the stocks in your portfolio at a glance.
  • What are LiteStock's system requirements?
  • -An active internet connection
    -500 MHz processor
    -128 MB RAM
    -1 MB free space on your hard drive
    -Windows 2000, XP, or Vista
    -Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
  • Does LiteStock contain spyware?
  • No! LiteStock does not contain spyware, viruses, adware, or malware of any sort, and it never will.
  • What is a quote source?
  • A quote source is a website which LiteStock can retrieve stock price information from. Currently, LiteStock supports two quote sources: MSN Money and Yahoo! Finance..
  • Are quotes real-time?
  • No. Quotes are delayed by between 15 and 20 minutes, depending on the quote source and the exchange.
  • Why does my stock show up in one source but not another?
  • Some sources may not list all available stocks. The sources may also name some stocks differently; for example, using underscores instead of hyphens.
  • I found a bug in the program; what should I do?
  • Please let us know about it! You can either send us an email, or use LiteStock's built-in 'Report a Bug' feature which is accessible by right-clicking the LiteStock icon in the system tray.
  • What is the difference between the licensed version and the unlicensed version?
  • The licensed and unlicensed versions are identical, except that the unlicensed version supports a maximum of 5 stocks.
  • If I purchase a license key, can i use it to install litestock on multiple computers?
  • Yes! You can install LiteStock on any computer you own. Please don't give your license key to your friends or post it online, though.
  • Help! I lost my license key!
  • No problem! Just let us know and we can send you a new one.
  • If I license LiteStock, then switch to a different user account and run the application again, why do I have to re-license?
  • This allows LiteStock to run as a limited user. If the license was applied to the entire machine, administrative priveleges would be required to save the license file. This is a feature we may implement in the future, though, if there is demand for it.
  • When I submit a bug report, what information is sent to the server?
  • When you submit a bug report, the text of your bug report, your version of LiteStock, your version of Windows, and your version of the .NET Framework are sent to the server. If you choose to enter your email address it will be sent as well. Your email address will ONLY be used to contact you, if necessary, regarding your bug report. We will never sell, distribute, or reveal your email address to anyone.
